Lake Manyara adds a beautiful finale with its rich birdlife, elephants, lush forests and possibility of spotting its famous tree-climbing lions.

Day by day itinerary

Day 01

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Pick up from Arusha and leave for Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunch. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is one of the most beautiful places in Africa. The Park is dramatically marked off by lush green vegetation consisting of tall trees of the ground water forest, which provide home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. Further down, the forest opens up into woodland, grassland, swamps and beyond, the soda lake itself where over 350 species of birds, including the lively flamingo, pelican, sacred ibis, grebe and stork can be viewed. At the southern end of the Park are hot sulphur springs called Maji Moto. Manyara is noted for its numerous buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo, as well as a great variety of smaller animals, and of course the very elusive tree-climbing lions. In the afternoon drive to your lodge facing the great landscape of rift valley.

Day 02

Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast drive to Serengeti National Park, you will arrive at the Naabi hills gate and after formalities you will enter Serengeti and probably the greatest park on earth. This park, undoubtedly the most famous in the world, covers over 14 000 sq. km and offers amongst many other things the biggest concentration of big cats in the world (Cheetahs, Lions, Leopards, Wild cats…). Many different landscapes can be found in the Serengeti: Savannah with the big plains to the south, hills & woods to the west, the kopjes area to the east, and bush land to the north. Important rivers (Seronera, Banagi, Grumeti ) also run through the park. Many different species of mammals can be spotted during game drives, elephant, buffalo, giraffes, antelopes… hippo and crocodile can also be found.

Day 03

Full Day Game Drive Serengeti National Park

Morning and evening game drives through the Serengeti plains. Serengeti is perhaps the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. These vast, seemingly unending plains are inhabited during the migration by enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah, impala, buffalo, birds and up to ten thousand elephants. Dinner and overnight Osinon Tented Camp

Day 04

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast Descend into the 100-square-mile Ngorongoro Crater to view game on the vast grasslands of the crater floor. The bottom of the crater dotted with watering-holes, shelters almost 30 000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the slopes of the volcano. You will find the Big Five lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard among others. Ngorongoro crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and surrounded by very steep walls rising 610 meter from the floor, it is considered to be one of the Wonders of the Natural World and is a veritable haven for wildlife. Spectacular animal life can be found throughout the year due to the permanent availability of grass and water. Picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool, later ascend and arrive at your lodge for a sunset.

Day 05

Arusha.

After breakfast at the lodge, drive to Mto wa Mbu for cultural visit to the local women and learn how they do their daily activities including farming, small women financing groups, you will have local lunch with the local women to taste the local African food After lunch drive back to Arusha Airport/Kilimanjaro International Airport.
